Two thousand five is but a shadow in the mist

Tearful night's joyful days
Left their wake through holidays

Time to ponder last year's dues
The coming months we have no clues

Today's reflection we're left to think
How yesterday's journey and now will link

Some will sense their future amongst a sunny day
Others seem to long for hope to help guide the way

For all things new a smile is born
Pages of the past have withered and torn

Look within and walk forward for happiness to reside
Leave regret and sorrows behind you, move on don't hide

Let the awesome gift of life be the best you unwrap
Let your heart and your spirit be your guide not a map

May this New Year we have entered be kind every day
Smell flowers, watch sunsets, and see beauty along the way.
